Resolved Question: Israel section, why do
Dean especially needs to read a history book. I am completely offended at this claim. For the longest time Poland was the only country in Europe that accepted the Jews who were made refugees by antisemitism elsewhere in Europe. Even today we are VERY PROUD of this fact and speak of it with great reverence and pride. Until the partition and WW2, Poland was the only safe place in Europe for the Jewish people. In case anyone doesn't know the history of Europe, non-Jewish Poles were ANNIHILATED by the Nazis. If you want someone to blame, blame the Russians and Nazis. I was going to Email you this Dean, but you apparently don't allow them. I am two generations removed from the old country and the elders have nothing bad to say about the Jews or the way they were treated in Poland. @Kismet- @Kismet, your Amos Oz is a liar or a great exaggerator. Until the forced partition we were the only home for Jews in Europe. Only the influence from Russian and Prussian peoples in Poland account for any antisemitism. None of the elders have ever described Jews in the light you present. But what can I expect from a person who cites Joan Peters as if it were gospel? You were lied to. Really, no defense for Poland? What about the rescue of Jews? **** it.
