Interview with Heather McIntosh
There’s an almost overwhelming, longing quality to your score that reminded me of such melodically “sad” minimalists as Arvo Part. Did those composers influence your own overall musical approach? I really hoped to capture the solitude and longing of ...

Resolved Question: Where to go with Arvo
I am in love with this man. the excruciating melancholy that comes across in both of these albums is devastating, beautiful and quite frankly has truly blown me away.
These were given to me by my music teacher in school a long time ago, and for some reason it took me a decade to get to them and their desolate beauty.
I want to ask someone who is more attuned to this man's full body of work to help me choose more albums to buy. I know he was heavy into choral compositions, don't mind giving that a go, but I'm more of an orchestral man.
Also I don't know just how varied his sound gets, but quite frankly I am in love with the sheer melancholy nature of these two albums and would like recommendations on the same line.
As honestly while I don't like using the word "depressing" to describe music, it's basically the only kind of classical music I truly fall in love with.
Hope you can help. (also other recommendation of composers with the same devastating style would be welcomed)

Resolved Question: Classical composers in
Arvo Part Is the only classical composer I've ever liked. I admittedly haven't listened to much classical music, but I've yet to come across anything remotley compareable to the emotions and the introverted nature of Arvo's music. I'd love to hear something with the same frailty and depth (?) to It. ANy reccomendations/suggestions welcome. Thanks
