Resolved Question: In 1994 why did Damon
In the Australian Formula 1 GP in 1994 Damon Hill entered this final race of the season 1 point behind Michael Schumacher.
But in the infamous incident Michael Schumacher deliberately drove into Hill to avoid Hill beating him to the world title.
Schumacher was out immediately after this but hill tried to keep going, and then pitted so the team could assess the damage.
But after alot of head shaking and with one of the suspension rods damaged (was bent).
The commentators said it was too dangerous to continue.
However, surely as now Schumacher was out, and he only needed 5th place to get the title (2 points) or maybe even 6th depending of the countback of how many wins he and Schumacher had (but I forget who had the most wins), anyway, surely they could have strapped it with some tape or something and then he could have continued making sure he finished?
If it were up to me I would not care about my safety I would try to get the championship.
What do you guys think?
