Resolved Question: A question about David
I am not trying to slate the guy here whatsoever, I just wanted to ask people who were around during the 70's a question. What exactly was so groundbreaking and amazing about the guy's music? Or was it his image? I understand and accept that he has clearly been a huge influence in pop and rock music, but I just wanted to know why, as I personally don't see how he has achieved such status in the music industry.
By the way, I was born in 1990, and my mum loves the guy. I have heard alot of his music, and alot of the records he produced for other artists. Please remember that I am not trying to insult the giuy or anyone who likes his music.
PS- Please dont say 'That's just your opinion', 'Your opinion doesn't matter' or 'Everyone has different taste', as that does not answer my question. I would appreciate some well written, inteligent answers by people who know his music andd were around during his heyday.

Resolved Question: David bowie question?
so my question is about David Bowie, well i know what happened to his eyes pupil but i was reading what the fight was about and it was over a girl and he was talking about it and said
"When I was 14 I fell in love with a girl. I was crazy about her. Only trouble was, my best mate had a bit of a soft spot for her too, but I was the winner. I moved in before he'd even made up his mind about how to approach her. Next day I was at school boasting to my mate about what a Casanova I was and he became terribly annoyed. In fact he threw a punch at me."
but i dont get what he means by a 'Casanova'
if you know can you please tell me, thanks :) i did google it except i didnt understand some of it because it was too sophisticated (i think thats the word for it) for me to understand

Resolved Question: Elvis Presley or David
I'd definitely say David Bowie. Elvis Presley didn't even write his own songs (except for like two), so basically, he was just an image.
Bowie on the other hand, a genius.

Resolved Question: Nick Cave/David Bowie/Tom
Haha yes i know an odd combination.
So i'm already a fan of David Bowie, i love hunky dory and ziggy stardust, but i don't know where to go from here. What are some of his other good albums?
Also, Nick Cave and Tom Waits, two singers i've been meaning to listen to. Can anyone give me suggestions to good albums to start with for both/either of them?
