Resolved Question: Looking for a certain
A few years ago I read a copy of a Dean Koontz novel ( in german ) and now I want to re-read it again in the original english version. It was somewhat like MIDNGHT, but where a boy ( maybe it was a girl ) escaped some scientific secret facility, with the ominous head leader with the striking name of PHIL COLLINS ( like the singer ). The escaped boy ( or was it indeed a girl ) was subjected to some "Fringe" science and got altered in a way, to obtain certain "supernatural" powers. There quite a few novels by Koontz out there that have that storyline but the striking memory I have was that sadistic scientific "leader" with that name of the british singer, Phil Collins. At one point, there was a chase with Phil Collins at night around town and the Escaped boy ( girl ) found an alliance to help him ( her ). It bugging me for ages and I tried to get hold of every book by Koontz, but so far no luck. I first thought it was indeed MIDNIGHT but although a great story, it wasnt what I am looking for! Do you remember that villain in an old ( vintage ) Dean Koontz novel? Phil Collins! To Bookworm: Thanks for the answer / suggestion. It wasnt Twilight Eyes, because the escaped boy ( or girl ) was much younger, maybe around 10 -12 y/o. About your suggestion about the german translations being altered in such a way ( to change the names ), would be a tragedy in finding that novel. In my faint re-collection I think I remember the title was "Mitternacht" ( in original english than MIDNIGHT ) but after reading that. It wasnt the right one. Another option could be NIGHT CHILLS??
