Wausau Daily HeraldCO2 not the driver of climate changeWausau Daily HeraldFreeman Dyson, an astrophysicist, stated the climate models are flawed and do not prove carbon dioxide is the driver of warming. He states the models use “fudge factors” in an attempt to account for clouds, water vapor, sun and solar activity to ...

  'Alien empire' search of 100,000
The largest search of distant galaxies for signs of highly advanced alien civilisations has yielded... nothing. Not even one simple little pan-galactic alien super-race found from among 100,000 galaxies. Drat. But scientists have found 50 galaxies with unusual radiation signatures, indicating something is happening inside many distant collections of stars -- even if it's nothing to do with alien ...

  Search for advanced civilizations beyond
( Penn State ) After searching 100,000 galaxies for signs of highly advanced life, a team of scientists using observations from NASA's WISE satellite has found no evidence of advanced civilizations there. The idea behind the research is that, if an entire galaxy had been colonized by an advanced spacefaring civilization, the energy produced by that civilization's technologies would be detectable ...

A New Type of Dyson Sphere May Be Nearly
Over fifty years ago, physicist Freeman Dyson proposed an awesome, if slightly insane, idea: That an advanced alien civilization might construct a massive, energy-harvesting sphere around its star, and bunk up inside. Read more...

Resolved Question: What makes Freeman Dyson
I recently asked a question about what people think of Freeman Dyson saying a good scientist should be a skeptic.;_ylt=Ak3KMb0ae8lUfapWtf4HL1XBFQx.;_ylv=3?qid=20130406020421AAngtsb One of the answers I received stated. "You should read the Wiki article on Dyson. Maybe it will teach you the difference between a skeptic and deniers like yourself. If you don't like Wiki (Dyson does) then read what Dyson says, not some spin doctor's "interpretation". I admire Dyson and am not about to disagree with him on the science. I find it ironic that deniers of global warming think he agrees with them. I also feel that's pretty good proof that deniers don't bother to research anything to do with their opinions - they just look for talking points." Granted I don't know a lot about Freeman Dyson but I agree with him that a good scientist should be skeptical and I think there is a lot of skepticism missing in climatology. From what I've briefly read about his views on climate change, they don't seem to differ much from my own or from most of the "deniers" viewpoints I've read on YA. From Wiki: Dyson: "I'm not saying the warming doesn't cause problems, obviously it does. Obviously we should be trying to understand it. I'm saying that the problems are being grossly exaggerated. They take away money and attention from other problems that are much more urgent and important. Poverty, infectious diseases, public education and public health. Not to mention the preservation of living creatures on land and in the oceans." I believe CO2 should cause an increase in temperatures. I don't believe it is warming as fast as the IPCC has predicted (it's not in fact, alarmists know this and it makes them angry when people point it out). I don't believe there has been an increase in "Extreme Weather" either. I don't believe we should be panicking or throwing away money to fight something that's been completely blown out of proportion. I know Dyson is not a climatologist. I'm just wondering how his views make him a "skeptic" and my views make me a "denier".
