If you've read the book, some people argue that Suskind is making fun of the perfume industry as more and more celebrities have their own scents (perfumes). Can anyone explain why and where (in the book) Suskind is making fun of the perfume industry.

I know that he has amazing olfactory senses, i know where he was born, read the whole book. I'm referring to the last chapter of the book, I don't think I'm quite getting it. My teacher said read the last chapter of the book again and Suskind reveals who Grenouille is...can someone help me please

this is what i have so far... In Perfume, Süskind also creates sympathy for the main character Grenouille, a creature who murders beautiful virgins for their scent, by describing Grenouille’s passion for scent and perfume. Although the reader is repulsed and frightened by Grenouille’s behavior, Grenouille’s drive and passion create understanding from the reader as they become one with the murderer and desire the single, perfect scent. Süskind achieves this through the use of third person narration which voices an alternative for dialog demonstrates the characters' thoughts.
