I'm in Model United Nations at my school and currently my topic is the Urban-rural divide. My country is Egypt. I haven't been able to find any sources that tell me this. However, if anybody knows, why is it that people decide to stay in the rural regions of Egypt (aside from the inability to move into the city and so on)? In other words, what are the peoples' cultural ties to the rural region? Thank you.
