Resolved Question: How much time in Phnom
My wife, teenage daughter, and I are planning a trip for almost 3 weeks in late June/early July to some parts of southeast Asia. We fly into Chiang Mai and out of Phnom Penh. We also plan to visit Siem Reap/Angkor Wat, and a Cambodian beach. We plan to spend a little more than 3 days each in Phnom Penh, Chiang Mai, and Luang Prabang. (We'll also see Siem Reap and go to the beach for a few days.) Do you think the equal distribution of time in these three places makes sense? Also, is Kampot worth visiting for a day if it takes a day away from Phnom Penh? Any other suggestions regarding places nearby, tours, etc. are appreciated.

Resolved Question: Have you been to Luang
Hi guys, I'm travelling to Thailand for 2 weeks and thought I wanted to cross the border in to Laos to go to Luang Prabang for 3 days ? What do you think of it ? Ex-Franch colony, sounds like a nice place. I was thinking of taking a boat trip to get there, is that my best option ? WHat kind of prices am I looking for so far as hotel and food over there ? Thanks for your time.

Resolved Question: Has anyone been to Laos?
Hi there.. I'm a gap year student going off for volunteer work in Luang Prabang, Laos in November. Since it is hard to find many details on the internet, I thought I'd try here :) I would just like to know the basic conditions and things to be aware of, especially regarding safety in travelling alone (I'm an 18 year old girl... and I look like I'm 12 :S ) Is it ok to visit the shops and walk around by myself? Also, are there any concerns about clothing, as in are there restrictions on what is appropriate. Since the organisation I'm volunteering for, pay for my meals and accomodation, I was wondering what would be a reasonable amount to have as spending money. As in how much would I need per month, for getting around, buying souvenirs, extra food, visiting attractions, etc. Thanks everyone!
