Resolved Question: Career Opportunities in
Are there a lot of career opportunities for foreigners in Singapore?
I am working as a medical secretary in a hospital in Canada. I have about a year and a half experience and as much fun as I have working in the ER, I am curious about working and living in Asia. I am thinking of Singapore not only because I have a few friends there, but also from what I hear from them and from others. English is my native language, but I can also communicate (verbally) in Cantonese. Prior to my current job, I have about 5 years of experience in customer service (various retail jobs when I was a student) as well. I heard that there are a lot of things in Singapore that is similar to and different from Canada.
I was wondering how the job market is in Singpore. I did not finish my undergraduate studies in University (as an English major), but I do have my diploma from completing my studies in a medical administrative program. I am in no rush of running off to Asia (I am just looking for a change after living in Canada my entire life), but I am really interested in experiencing a new culture and becoming more independent.
Any advice and information will be greatly appreciated.
