Resolved Question: Is there enough to do in
I am planning for a 8 night trip to Slovakia in the 2nd week of April with my wife. I can choose from Hungary / Czech Republic / Greece or Slovakia but somehow I am keen on Slovakia as I feel it would be less touristy. My questions are as follows:
1. How is Slovakia as a tourist destination?
1. Is there enough to see in Slovakia for 8 nights or should I do maybe Budapest for 3 nights and remaining in Slovakia?
3. If i do Slovakia for 8 nights then what are the places I should definitely include in my itinerary.
I am 34 years old and my wife is 31. We are not very keen on museums etc but really are into scenic mountains / nature etc.

Resolved Question: Was Poprad, Slovakia part
I have an ancestor who is marked as being from Deutschendorf, Austria in the early 1990's in her obituary. I now understand that there is a town by that name (which is now Poprad) in Slovakia - very close to the borders of Austria. I'm not a history or map buff, but I think there was some duel Hungary-Austria rule during the early 1900's - but that still doesn't answer whether this could be the town I am looking for.
My question is: Could it be possible that Poprad, Slovakia (formerly known as Deutschendorf) have once been united with Austria? Thanks!

Resolved Question: Transportation between
I am trying to get from the U.S. to Pohorela, Slovakia alone with a small child. I have never traveled the route before. Probably, I will fly into either Vienna, Krakow, or Budapest, but I am looking for the easiest train transportation....it seems like it's from Vienna-Bratislava and Bratislava-Poprad Tatry. However, what is the best way from Poprad-Tatry rail station to Pohorela? Can I arrange a taxi in advance? I DON"T speak Slovakian...only German.

Resolved Question: Piestany, Poprad,
Looking for a place that would make everyone happy in northern Slovakia. One person likes town/spa, another country/mountain, and others like aqua park. We are travelling by car with a 2 1/2 year old in late September.
Research results thus far: Thermal/Mineral Spa in Piestany, Poprad with Aquacity, or Liptovsky Mikulas with Tatralandia. Which place would be the best to make everyone happy? Any suggestion where to stay near the spa or aqua park?
Is there any spa or mineral pools with accommodations that would suite all ages and good for family?
