Resolved Question: Good place to live for a
I'm going to be living in the NYC area for 2-3 months. I have VERY little time to find a place remotely before going up there. Any suggestions for a good place to live while I'm there. I'm OK with a longer commute if it cuts the overall expense. I want somewhere that feels safe and an apartment (or similar) that will be as quiet and bug free as possible. I've been using the internet to search but am realizing I need some answers specific to me on this. Found one website that reviews apartments -- some are in there some are not, lots of complaints about bugs and noise in the places I've found (including supposedly somewhat high end places on the New Jersey side). I have no clue what cities are the safest, which will save me enough to afford a car if they require one etc. I've had some tell me that some places in upper Manhattan are not safe for a woman to be alone, even during the day so that has me nervous that I will have to drive. I'm trying to leave all my options open but plan for the best. I've never been to NY so any help on this would be so much appreciated. I really only have another day or two to make all my plans.

Resolved Question: Is Upper Manhattan Really
This might sound like a dumb question but everytime I take the "A" subway train to Washington Heights I see mostly white people on the train heading up there but Washington Heights is a primarily Latino (especially Dominican) neigborhood. So how come I hardly see any Dominicans on the train and I see mainly white people going up there? Just curious

Resolved Question: Is Lower Manhattan more
I was in NYC and stayed on the upper west side.
Upper Manhattan seemed proper and nothing out of the ordinary.
I went to lower Manhattan for dinner and used the public bathroom
at a restaurant and there was writing all over the wall to the effect of:
"I lost my virginity in this bathroom stall", "I had great sex in this bathroom"
Did I just end up in a strange bathroom
or is lower Manhattan very sexual and hippyish?
